The worst-kept secret in Adam Islandic sports is out - the country will host events in the 1st Summer Olympics.

After weeks wrangling with issues relating to the defunct Olympic Commission, the International Democratic Republic officially announced their intention to host the games at 18 sites in over a dozen different nations. Insiders say that the games will kick off with an opening ceremony in the Free Land of the IDU on June 6th, and will last for about 3 weeks.

Las Adam's coast is slated host the 11 sailing events, organized in the Las Adam Marina. At any given time Las Adam has as many tourists in the city as they do actual residents, and expects the ratio to be skewed even more with the Olympics coming to town.

The city of Adam County will host the 17 shooting events. They will be held at Cats Field, an outdoor soccer pitch that has hosted local competitions for years. It was used by troops during the Rat Flu War to store arms, making it a fitting venue.

The games in Adam Island will be entirely funded by private parties. The uses of the Las Adam Marina and Cats Field are being donated by their respective owners, as the global exposure will more than pay for itself.

Adam Island's scientific technicians have finally regained contact with the outside world. A plague and wars ravaged the island, leading to quarantines and nuclear radiation that prevented communication. Fortunatly, the National Republic has gained control of Adam City and is officially recognized as the legitimate government of Adam Island by the vast majority of warring factions.

The nuclear holocausts caused by quasi-military terrorists and the civil wars waged in cities and countrysides across the nation combined with the epidemic to destroy an estimated 60% of the population and pulverize the economy.

The National Republic of Adam Island has set up a legislature at the site of the destroyed Adamstag in Adam City. We call on foreign leaders to join Adam Islanders in recognizing the NR as the official government of Adam Island.
